This event will be held rain or shine!  We will meet downstairs inside the nursery building.   Let's hope it holds off until after 4pm!

At this meeting we will learn about soil from San Diego Master Gardener Niki Vollrath.  She will explain why soil is such an important ingredient for a successful garden and will discuss soil health and healthy gardens.

Niki is a certified master gardener. She holds a B.S. in Soil Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and a M.S. in Tropical Agriculture from University of Hawaii - Manoa.. She was a Soil Scientist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Hawaii and California. Currently, she resides in Rancho Penasquitos with her husband.

Master Gardener Marilyn Cornell will then hold a Q&A session on basic gardening topics.  Marilyn is a San Diego native and UCCE Master Gardener who grows ornamentals, fruit trees and vegetables in the 92103 micro climate. “
