Pumpkin Planting and Planting the Winter Garden

Calling all parents, grandparents, kids, and fall lovers!

Join the Mission Hills Garden Club for a pre-Halloween pumpkin planting garden party at the Mission Hills Nursery. Limit of 30 participants.  The $15 ($20 for non-members) per planting materials fee covers all plants and planting materials required for this fun and creative fall project. Each participant team will leave the event with a live fall planting to welcome trick-or-treaters to their door. Children must attend with their supervising adult. Refreshments will be served.

Plus, we will have a winter garden presentation that will cover When to Plant, Preparing the Soil, Selecting Varieties to Plant, Seeds vs Seedlings, Space Considerations and Harvest Time.  Marilyn Cornell has been planting a winter garden in her Juniper-Front Community Garden plot since 1996. She is a San Diego native and a UCCE Master Gardener. She is still trying to successfully grow a delicious tomato!
