Please join us at the Mission Hills Garden Club for our special November event on Wednesday November 17th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. We will gather at the United Church of Christ in Mission Hills, on 4070 Jackdaw Street, San Diego, CA 92103 to have our annual holiday potluck.

WHAT TO BRING:

Beverages and desserts will be provided. Please bring your favorite “finger food” to share. Portable appetizers in bite sized portions are ideal for this event.

ACTIVITIES:

We will also be having a plant swamp courtesy of Blossm, a new virtual plant App.

Blossm is social plant marketplace app that connects people locally & nationally through swapping, buying & selling plants! Our platform facilities seamless acquisition of plants or plant-related items, but also fosters friendships between our users, aka the blossmrs. Our Blossm community stays in touch with each other & develop relationships online which translates to offline real life friendships! Our dream is to create one big happy plant family that grows together on Blossm!

"Let's create an exchange for growth"

Mudlily Clay, a local ceramics studio in University Heights, will be selling pottery made by local artisans to compliment your plant swap or provide some early holiday gifts. Check out their website to learn more about their studio and the fun events they host weekly (intro pottery classes, date night, wheel, corporate events).

Nancy Carol Carter, our local horticultural historian and co-editor of "The Complete Writings of Kate Session in California Garden" will be selling and signing books for your coffee table or gift giving! Kate Sessions, the "Mother of Balboa Park" was a horticulturist who helped transform a dusty mesa into San Diego's crown jewel.

The MHGC is proud to give Scholarships to Students with Horticultural majors at 4 local colleges.  We are thrilled to honor 4 City College Scholarship recipients at our November meeting. Learn more about these incredible students here!

*Following the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Mission Hills Garden Club will require visitors, employees and contractors to wear a mask inside all buildings, regardless of vaccination status or community transmission levels.
