Nataly Vanta Bio

Nataly Vanta is a Professional Urban Agriculture major at San Diego City College. She initially came into agriculture as a method of work exchange when traveling in Ireland. She spends 6-8 hours working on an organic farm in exchange for food, good company, and housing. In the time that she spent on that farm she quickly grew accustomed to the lifestyle that the farmers were living. She became more connected to the earth beneath her, the nutritional value of what was on her plate, and the lush conversations she was having with the other farmworkers. She came home with a full heart and found this associates program that extended her knowledge on the craft of agriculture. She hopes to eventually work for an organization that fights for food sovereignty in their community and values how they treat the land they cultivate on.
