Amanda Ho

My name is Amanda Ho and I just moved to San Diego from Singapore about 2 years ago.

My journey since finishing high school has been one of self-discovery. I majored in graphic communications at a local polytechnic and worked for about 6 good years in the industry, honing my design skills and learning many lessons along the way. I have won awards, led a team of junior designers, and even served as a judge at an awards show in 2012. But I soon found myself unsatisfied with the work I was doing. Somewhere in 2015, I discovered this work and travel organization called WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) and signed up for it. I volunteered on two farms in Japan and it really opened my eyes to the possibilities of living off the land and the importance and privilege of eating well. The soul-nourishing experience stuck with me and I've never looked back since taking the plunge.

I am currently, working part-time at the MiraCosta Nursery, tending to various aspects of the facility including the orchard, vineyard, grow beds, greenhouses, and general horticulture grounds.
