Dear Mission Hills Garden Club Members and Contacts,

We invite you to our third monthly meeting of the Garden Club via Zoom.

Where: https://zoom.us/join, members and contacts check your email for an exact link to click or the meeting ID and password. Others please email events@missionhillsgardenclub.org for this information.

What:   Wild Parrots of San Diego

Speaker:  Sarah Mansfield,Operations Manager, Wildlife & SoCal Parrot

SoCal Parrot is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that rescues and rehabilitates wild, urban parrots from throughout Southern California. When the rescued birds are healthy again we release them back into the urban wild. In addition to rescue work, SCP also advocates for wild parrot conservation and educates the public about urban parrots. This program will provide some basic information about our local wild parrots species, and then give your group a chance to ask any questions regarding urban parrots and our work at SCP.

The Garden Club Board is excited about the ability to see everyone’s faces at this  virtual event and hope that you will be as well.

Many institutions have been using Zoom to conduct business, from school districts to the San Diego Community College system. A one-minute video about Zoom and download instructions can be found at https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-How-Do-I-Join-A-Meeting-.

Tech support will be available for 30 minutes prior to the meeting, so from 6:00pm-6:30pm on May 28.

Check your email or email events@missionhillsgardenclub.org for the exact links, meeting ID, password needed to join.

We will all be learning as we use this technology for our first virtual Garden Club meeting. To help the meeting flow smoothly, we plan to mute participants once the meeting starts and use the chat feature for participants to ask questions of the presenter. The moderator will watch the chat space and periodically interrupt to ask the questions. At the end of the sessions, we’ll unmute everyone for any additional questions.
