The Mission Hills Garden Club was established in the early 1990's to bring together those neighbors and friends who had an interest in gardening and community beautification. Our club is unique in that the monthly meetings with speakers are held in the evening, allowing an eclectic group to attend and enjoy sharing their knowledge and interests.
Besides our monthly meetings, we have many members' events throughout the year. Coffee in the Garden, Wine in the Garden, field trips and workshops round out our offerings.
Our biggest annual event is the Garden Club Walk, held on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. It is our major fundraiser, and its proceeds go to fund the following among others-
4 horticultural internships/scholarships at community colleges in San Diego
Succulent baskets on Lewis Street
Hanging baskets in the commercial area of Washington, Goldfinch, and Falcon streets
Update of the playground equipment in Pioneer Park
Annual grant to fund the horticultural section of the Mission Hills library
Annual grant to Grant School's Gecko Garden

We were named a Blue Ribbon Club by the Palomar Garden District!
We have been honored for both the largest membership increase in the San Diego area, for our directory, and for our philanthropy.
